Dry Mill Defined
An ethanol production process in which the entire corn kernel is first ground into flour before processing. In addition to ethanol, dry mills also produce dried distillers grains with solubles (DDGS) which is fed to livestock; and carbon dioxide which is used in food processing and bottling. Most new ethanol plants are dry mill facilities.

Highwater Ethanol breaks ground

LAMBERTON - Although plant construction has been underway for months, a groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday for Highwater Ethanol, LLC, just west of town. Located on a 120-acre site in the Lamberton Industrial Park, the producer-owned plant includes a 50 million gallon per year dry mill corn-processing ethanol plant.
